At Aviya Mattress, we focus on building exceptionally crafted mattresses that outperform the competition, and provide unparalleled comfort year after year at an affordable price. We knew from our inception that this was not possible while taking shortcuts or cutting corners to save a few dollars here and there. We’d much rather make a product we are proud of than make a little more money. It helps us sleep even better at night.

The only way to realize this ambition was to start with the best materials available. Everything from the high-quality wood found in our mattress foundations to the foams we use in our support layers has been carefully selected to ensure we are able to achieve our goal.

Today, we'd like to talk about our high-density foams, and why we go above and beyond to offer upholstery grade foam that exceeds the density our competition offers by 50% or more.

The foam we use for our support layers is measured at 1.8 pcf, or pounds per cubic foot. This means a 1x1x1 foot cube of our foam weighs in at 1.8 pounds. The vast majority of our competition uses 1.2 pcf foam, which in our opinion just doesn't provide the support and durability we wanted our mattress to have. For the record, we have yet to find a competitor making innerspring mattresses with foam that comes even close to rivaling the quality and density you will find in the Aviya mattress.

Be sure not to compare the density of our foams to that of an all memory foam mattress, since our mattress features a pocketed innerspring system underneath multiple layers of upholstery grade foam. A memory foam mattress lacks an innerspring support system and must rely only on the foam to provide your body with the support it needs.

Unfortunately, while foam is great for an additional comfort layer, it just can't offer the same support of an innerspring mattress. That realization was essentially what led us to design Aviya Mattress as a pocketed innerspring system with foam layers used only for additional support and comfort. In our opinion, this combines the best of both worlds, and mitigates the disadvantages of each system.

Here's what high density, upholstery grade helps us achieve in the Aviya Mattress:

  •  Comfort: More density means more support, which translates into more comfort. Note that even the Aviya Plush Mattress offers overwhelming support, and be sure not to confuse “softness” with a lack of support. Our high-density foams allow us to create a mattress that can be soft AND supportive so you don’t have to choose one over the other.

  •  Longevity: It’s pretty simple, our high-density foams are not just more dense than typical foam you’d find in an innerspring or hybrid mattress, they’re of much higher quality. We knew we wanted to set a new precedent in mattress warranties, and we couldn’t do that with confidence without the high-density foams we use. Our mattresses are warrantied for up to 10 years, including sag impressions of one inch or greater! Compare us to the competition and we’re confident you won’t find a better mattress warranty on the market.

  • Durability: Many memory foam mattresses or mattress toppers are far from durable. Many people accidentally rip their memory foam products when attempting to adjust the location or move the product to a different room or house. The Aviya Mattress is built to last for years and years, and its foam support layers are protected by a premium stretch-knit ticking.

  • Sagging: If there’s a four letter word in the mattress industry, it’s sagging. You can learn more about why mattresses sag, but it really comes down to poor craftsmanship and / or inferior materials. Our high-density upholstery grade foam allows us to offer the best sagging warranty on the market. While most of the competition protects you from for a few years of sags that are 1.5” or more, with Aviya you are protected against sags of 1” or greater for ten years from the day you receive your mattress. We’re proud to offer what we feel is the strongest warranty in the mattress industry, and if you find a better warranty from a competitor, please let us know!

We don't stop at the density! All of our foam is CertiPUR-US® certified!

CertiPUR-US is a not-for-profit company that tests foams that will be used in consumer goods, including furniture and mattresses. All of their tests are performed at a third-party, independent laboratory to ensure the foam used in bedding and other consumer goods is free from dangerous and potentially toxic chemicals. Their standards are extremely strict and you can trust that CertiPUR-US® certified foams are safe for your family and ecologically friendly, too.

We only use foams that have been approved with the CertiPUR-US® seal. What Does CertiPUR-US® mean to Aviya?
